There is one and only one way that Guinness surpasses Hershey: he is very good about having his training collar and leash attached before leaving for a walk. Hershey went bananas until he was old as I tried to prepare him for a walk. He was just too excited to relax for a few seconds. Guinness, on the other hand, stands still and waits while I gear him up. Shocking!
We braved the coldest day of the winter yet and trudged to the bike walk. It was very difficult walking because the path was several inches of packed snow frozen into a slippery mass. The snow beside the path was like a brick of Swiss cheese with deep, frozen footprints which were equally difficult to navigate. No one was around, so Guinness ran freely for most of the walk. He even escaped into someone’s backyard, but came running when called! Good boy!
